Deborah James is a Professor of Anthropology at the London School of Economic.  She was born and educated in South Africa, having received her PhD at the University of Witwatersrand. Her research interests lie in the fields of anthropology of South and Southern Africa and are broadly political and economic in focus.

Hosted by the UBC History Department, African Awareness Initiative, St. John’s College and the Liu Institute for Global Issues.
